Appearance: Pours a dark and cloudy brown with a hint of amber. Moderate amount of bubbles and some sediment. About two fingers of off white head that slowly recede to a thin layer. Decent amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell: A sweet and somewhat boozy aroma. Belgian yeast and cloves with a good amount of bready malts with hints of caramel and toffee. Some brown sugar and a little coriander spice. Big aroma of dark fruits with hints of alcohol soaked raisins, grapes, plums, figs, and dates. Pretty nice smell.
Taste: Big kick of spice up front from the Belgian yeast and cloves. Following that is the bready caramel malts. Hints of toffee, brown sugar, and coriander. Lots of complex dark fruit flavors. Notes of rum soaked raisins, plums, prunes, grapes, dates, and figs. Also a light hint of apple. Fairly spicy and sharp. Very good.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Very creamy and juicy. This feels a little hot from the high alcohol but it isn't strong enough to mess with the other flavors.
